Soak in the city’s rich history as the second-oldest city in Georgia with a visit to the Augusta Museum of History, saunter down African American History Walk, or take a historic trolley tour. Augusta was a key provider of troops to the South in the Civil War, commemorated at the Confederate Monument and Magnolia Cemetery where more than 300 soldiers and seven generals are buried.
